The Gran Fondo Surutato is a challenging cycling event that takes place in the Sierra Madre Occidental, with routes of 70k and 140k that offer breathtaking views and demanding climbs.

The granfondo race has the same start in Veracruz, but will finish uphill after 145km in the city of Xalapa. The first 80km remain flat with parts on the highway, but the last section promises to be challenging with a finish at an altitude of 1335m which is mainly done in the last 30km.
