Century Rides in New Jersey
The comprehensive 2026 directory of 100-mile centuries, metric centuries (62 miles), and endurance cycling tours across New Jersey.
Cycling in New Jersey: Terrain & Route Overview
The Garden State frequently surprises visiting cyclists with its extraordinary rural beauty and thriving endurance culture. Outside its urban corridors, New Jersey offers two distinct cycling worlds. In the northwest, Sussex and Warren counties feature demanding Appalachian rollers, deep river valleys, and climbs up to High Point State Park. In the south, the flat, sandy roads through the Pine Barrens and along the Jersey Shore provide fast, pancake-flat century routes where cyclists can hold swift group pacelines. Popular centuries like the Farmland Ride and local charity centuries take riders past preserved historic farmland, horse pastures, and seaside boardwalks. With an extensive cycling season and active club community, New Jersey is a cornerstone of East Coast century riding.
Terrain Characteristics: Northwestern Kittatinny mountain ridges, central rolling horse farms, and southern Pine Barrens and Jersey Shore flats.
